Properly planning ahead in business saves time, money and it also saves you from many possible failures that could be avoided.
Many entrepreneurs and leaders I worked with and met felt the need to jump right into business and projects without a clear plan, without being properly equipped, and without having a wholesome/clear business strategy.
In fact, too many of the business strategies I have seen so far involve only one thing: making money. That's it. No clear vision, short-term, mid-term, or long-term goals or purpose. No real planning.
This type of approach, while can feel comfortable, fast and easy may also prove foolish in the long run and it can backfire in ways you can't even predict.
Or you could be proactive, plan and prepare: envision - gain clarity, put in the effort - build wisely so you can create impact through purposeful and strategic living and leading.



Learn from Roy
I met this entrepreneur a year ago, let's call him Roy. He was making a lot of money, and his business seemed successful from the outside. But inside his 'house,' there was chaos. And this was hurting him, his team and possibly the future of his business.
⛏️ As we dug deeper into his struggles, we realized he had no long-term vision and goals, he couldn't motivate and inspire employees or make them feel like they belonged because, besides the fact that he planned on becoming financially successful, he planned nothing else.
⛏️ At this point, his employees were not committed, and there was a huge gap between him and the team. There wasn't much communication between them except task-related communication.
👉 Productivity and engagement were low. Confusion was high.
👉 And Roy was struggling with high stress, anxiety and lack of clarity.
So how was he making so much money? - you might ask.
By doing most of the work himself while being frustrated that the team was not committed and helpful enough and facing the though consequences of high stress levels and doubt.
⛏️ Here's the deal: when employees don't understand the point of it all, they aren't inspired and committed, their work doesn't seem valued, their roles and responsibilities aren't clear, and their achievements aren't celebrated… they will do the bare minimum work until they can find a better place that makes sense to them and where they feel valued. Sometimes even regardless their high paycheck.
⛏️ The problem isn't in the business idea itself or your desire for financial success, the problem is in the details that aren't clear, wholesome and motivating enough for others to follow you and your vision.
⛏️ And when leaders and entrepreneurs aren't clear on their vision, goals, what they want to achieve, why and how, employees won't be either.
👉 Clarity and strategy are vital in business on all levels: vision, mission, goals, purpose, employees, relationships, clients, resources and leadership.
👉 A wholesome, strategic and clear planning sets up a business for success. And plans must be big enough to capture the goal and purpose of the business.
👉 Thinking small is only going to diminish your returns, achievement and impact.

The problem is that, by only masking disorder and dysfunctionality instead of addressing it, any type of normalized dysfunctionality can lead to serious damage in our personal lives, relationships and business.
Lack of order is oftentimes closely tied to a lack of higher purpose and direction, normalized dysfunction, and no or very little influence and impact in business, relationships and society.
Whereas, on the flip side, order leads to clarity, direction, purpose and meaning, as well as strategic positioning and positive influence. And even legacy.
