From Employee to Entrepreneur
How Oana shifted from a hopeless job to being an inspiring and successful business owner
When Oana reached out to me for 1-to-1 coaching, I had the opportunity to meet and work with this amazing woman, with tremendous potential, work experience, and talent, who had big dreams and meaningful desires for the future. Yet she was stuck in a dead-end job she thought would solidify her career, and her true dreams and plans were just that: dreams and plans for a distant future. But no clarity. No direction. And no action.
The greatest challenge Oana was facing when I met her was the lack of clarity over her direction in life and profession, no sense of true meaning, and no courage to act on her dreams of starting her own business even though she had vast experience in the bean-to-bar craft chocolate industry. Her dream has always been to open up her own chocolate ‘factory’ and skillfully do what she loves the most.
As we started working together every week for several months in 1-to-1 personalized coaching sessions and started digging deeper in a safe, confidential environment, Oana became more and more aware of who she really is, what she is capable of, what she truly wants, and what is right for her. She also became aware of what was slowing her down and even stopping her from reaching her dreams. Facing the truth isn’t always pleasant or easy, but when you feel safe, you have someone on your side who has your best interest at heart and supports you through thick and thin, things start to make sense. And as things became clearer and clearer for Oana with every passing session, she gave up some bad habits and limited beliefs that were in the way and focused more on planning the future she wanted, not the future she settled for. Her business dream started to take shape.
As she started planning, her goals became clearer as well and more and more attainable. With new goals came new responsibilities that required accountability and consistency in order to achieve her goals and vision. She has also established an excellent offline presence by having her products sold in several brick-and-mortar shops and created multiple prosperous partnerships that facilitate the successful development of her now well-established chocolate/cocoa ‘factory’ that crafts one of the best natural and organic cocoa-based products you can find on the market. We often tend to focus on what we know and neglect what we do not know or are not aware of. And this can make us overly confident in our beliefs and capacities as leaders and entrepreneurs. And so a lot of dysfunctionality and disorder gets overlooked and unaddressed, which can create a lot of unexpected damage both on a personal level and in business.
But by learning to become aware of what’s not working and why, and by addressing also uncomfortable and unexpected situations the right way and not postponing to make the hard decisions can have a huge impact on your business.
Not to mention that by bringing order and good functionality in your personal and business relationships and all areas of your life and by developing the skills and competencies that can support you in effective relationships, communication, and decision-making, you can better prepare for and possibly even prevent the damaging effects and painful consequences of unaddressed issues and postponed decisions.

And mess simply creates more mess and confusion. And when there’s a mess in our lives there’s also masked and normalized dysfunctionality. The problem is that, by only masking disorder and dysfunctionality instead of addressing it, any type of normalized dysfunctionality can lead to serious damage in our personal lives, relationships and business.
Lack of order is oftentimes closely tied to a lack of higher purpose and direction, normalized dysfunction, and no or very little influence and impact in business, relationships and society.
Whereas, on the flip side, order leads to clarity, direction, purpose and meaning, as well as strategic positioning and positive influence. And even legacy.
